Tub and Shower Surround…

The average cost of replacing a new bathtub run between $3,000 and $5,000, according to HomeAdvisor.com, and that includes the all-important installation of the tiling or water-resistant material that surrounds this fixture. Walk-in shower tubs run slightly less, depending on how elaborate they are. You’ll need someone who knows what they are doing and you’ll find that someone at AMC.

Wood Flooring…

“Wood flooring is very popular, and most wood can be used as floors as long as you understand their characteristics,” reported Alan Michael recently. That understanding extends to how to handle and install the wood.  An improperly installed wood floor can end up being a nightmare, and something you rightly expected to last for many years may have to be replaced within a few. Traditional wood flooring typically runs between $3 to as much as $14 per square foot, with the higher prices for exotic woods like Brazilian cherry and mahogany. Choose wisely when looking for someone to install your wood floor.

Backsplashes…

Kitchen backsplashes started out with a very practical purpose. All kinds of things were rinsed, washed and poured into the kitchen sink and their chief purpose was, as you might guess, to keep grease, dirty water, and corrosive liquids to from splashing on the surface behind your sink. Your great grandmother’s sink may have come with its own built-in backsplash about four inches high. Then came the old farmhouse sinks in the 1940’s made to fit under the counter surface. By the fifties and sixties, not only had backsplashes returned, but they were decorative and brightly colored. That couldn’t be truer today with all wall surfaces behind the counter often matching the backsplash. Whatever your choice in backsplashes, from complex to simple, we will do the job for you at Alan Michael Carpentry.

Countertops…

The highlight of the modern kitchen, complimenting the cabinetry, is the countertop on your workspace, including the kitchen island. There are so many kinds of textures and types of countertops now available and affordable, that craftsmanship is more important than ever. As custom carpenters, we are more than up to the task, whether your choice is granite, quartz, butcher block, recycled glass, laminate, marble and more.

Whatever type of floor you choose, you’ll want it to be attractive, if not downright beautiful, and, yes, durable. After all, a lot of people will be walking on it. There are so many flooring options available nowadays that it requires as wide a variety of expertise to expertly install them. Material choices include porcelain, ceramic and glass just for starters, as well as many natural stone options, including granite and marble.
