Summer in the City

Happy Summer everyone! Since our last post we have been busy with some very creative projects both in and outside the city:

  • a couple of new kitchens in Brooklyn
  • custom built-in closets and an entertainment unit in Williamsburg
  • “His and Hers” shower with panoramic views in Woodstock, NY!

Our first project is a 3-phase face lift to a vacation home located in the Catskill Mountains in Woodstock, NY. The first phase of this project is a complete gut renovation to the second floor including a new bathroom, new hardwood flooring and a new lighting program throughout.

The bathroom was reorganized to make better use of the space as well as the natural light provided by both north and south facing windows. The highlight of the space is a custom-built walk in shower which replaces the dated fiberglass shower and tub units. With natural stone finishes that bring in the surrounding environment, this unit is trimmed out in mahogany with a marine grade varnish and includes built in niches to store showering accessories. At 7 feet wide by 3 feet deep and with a transom window providing panoramic views, this is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the area. A frameless shower enclosure, to be installed shortly, will finish off this project which will certainly be enjoyed for years to come.

We will be starting on Phase 2 this month which will include a new kitchen and refinishing the hardwood floors on the entry level.

Our next project moves from the bathroom into the bedroom and living spaces. It will include three new closet build outs and an entertainment unit for an apartment in the heart of Williamsburg. Details include valet poles, belt and tie racks, jewelry drawers and slide out hampers. The entertainment unit neatly stores all the cable and video boxes while hiding the ever mounting number of wires that keep us all connected.
